Crews have begun clearing vegetation along various trails, greenbelts, and drainage easements throughout the District.

This important maintenance effort is designed to improve stormwater flow, reduce flood risk during heavy rain events, and help keep our public spaces safe and accessible. Crews will remove overgrown vegetation, invasive plant species, and debris that can obstruct drainage areas and detention ponds. The areas where vegetation is being removed are shown below:

Work is expected to continue through September 2026, and will take place Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. Some trail sections may be temporarily closed during construction, with signage and detours posted for public safety. For your safety, we ask that you do not bypass areas with barricades or fencing, and all pets must be kept on a leash.

Because portions of the project are located within the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone, all work will follow Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Edwards Aquifer Protection Program requirements to help protect groundwater quality and prevent sediment runoff.
